Successful Maiden flight and Towing experience. Found it was a bit nose heavy as I placed all the batteries up front to balance on the center of the wing tube ( up elevator trim ).
The four cylinder is wonderous in operation on the DLE 170 canisters - super quite and almost no vibrations. Excellent flying airplane.
Full stall landings are super slow too - had to add a bit more elevator travel than what in the manual though.
not unexpected, is the landing gear springs - they suffer the same malady as the Pawnee springs. Not to worry as I found McMaster-Carr had similar replacement units
Compression Spring - 4" Long, 0.938" OD, 0.642" ID - part number - 9657K138
Replacement process was fairly easy once I figured out how to compress the spring..... gave the interior a coating of grease

Landing gear spring update.
The new springs were a little soft and made for a very "active" suspension. It was kinda fun watching the Carbon Cub dance around at the Horizon Eli Field AeroTow when it was on the ground.
The main spring is pretty big on the inside so I tried to find the biggest spring to fit in the center and essentially double spring it.
https://www.mcmaster.com/9657K459 - Compression Spring, 4" Long, 0.563" OD, 0.381" ID did the trick. -46 lbs/in
Just had to cut off about 0.7 inches so it fit .
Main Spring, 4" Long, 0.938" OD, 0.642" ID is rated at 107 lbs/in
Added some Teflon grease to the assembly to minimize the squeaking.
Tested it this weekend and can report that its functioning properly - not sagging out.

I stumbled across your post back in March and applied to join the forum just to say how much I liked your build. It took 4 months and 5 days to get approved to post by the moderators, but here I am, so great work!!
Do you have a link to the videos above? I'd love to see it in action.
