While I wait for the 3/4 pinked tapes from http://PinkedTapes.com , converting the flaps to top driven to hide the control linkage.

inserts are made with 0.060 G10 material. 4-40 washer on either side of the ball link for spacing to clear the body

Pinking Tapes added - talked with http://PinkedTapes.com about applying the perimeter 2" wrap tape. They suggested using the heat forming technique but at 350 degrees. I was a apprehensive but gave it a shot......and it worked great.

Iron on the 2" tape at 200 F ( mark the center line of the 2" tape for a guide ) ....then apply more Poly-Brush to the center of the tape to keep it from moving around .

Dial the Iron up to 350 and start forming , the tighter radius need a little care not to get folds in the tape.

Things looked a little odd but formed up nicely ..... then a coat of Poly-Brush .

Tapes...tapes....and more tapes....both sides of both wings..

the fuselage made it's way out of the box in preparation of recovering and ....well .....kinda big.

The Goal .....found a picture of a Orange / silver CarbonCub that's just a little underexposed and made the standard Nevada Silver seem a little darker........so I decided to go with Rancho Silver ( 222M ). I found that the Nevada Silver "disappears" at about 800" on the P51/Pawnee. and .......From the 1950 Color chart....Omaha Orange......

Orange leading edge stripes for the tail feathers.
Made some patters on poster size card stock and then transferred to paint mask.
First step was to paint the silver surfaces white and then orange - using PPG Omni LV - Omaha Orange ( 60156 - FORD ).

                            some sundry items:
moved the VHF antenna over to the center and added a base.
                            Tow Release got a G10 - 0.040 base too.
