Experimenting with simulating the spokes on the wheels - I think I need to make the center hub bigger. ....and yes....it should be 10 spokes.........

I hope you have good luck with those wheels. I couldn't keep the tires on the rims very long. I think I ended up going to some fugly Sullivan skylight wheels with metal rims. Nice wheels in the needed size are few in choice it seems. Awesome rebuild of this airframe!!!

I also went through 3 sets of those wheels. Between losing one and the plastic hubs breaking, I ended up switching to standard Dubro wheels. No issues since.

You could pull a mold in halves from the wheel then get some ReoFlex product in, say Shore 50 hardness, then drill the wheel for a bushing to go on your axle of choice and some 'rims' could be through-bolted in place to support the inner portion of the tire and retain the bushing... maybe??? Or buy some really sturdy wheels from some of the better suppliers like for jets.

That's a great Idea.---finding the shop to do it is the real trick....

Pseudo Stand(way)off-Scale Panel line simulation. Using the existing hatch as a reference. I believe I'm going to upgrade the panels to flush rivets instead of the button head screws (simulated)

The pleasures of waiting for primer to dry......then some sanding.

Fun stuff! At least there aren't too many rivets and with them being flush the performance will be better! Right? lol

Some experimentation with the Flush rivet "process"...... primer on the G10 material ....then the soldering Iron......then paint ....in this case a little excessive as the nozzle had some "issues"

          Scott,

Many warbird guys go paint then rivets. They claim a cleaner rivet. If you have a temperature controlled soldering iron, then you can tweak the temperature to get rivets in the primer to any level you want. I have also knocked the raised edge off of rivets done in primer with a quick brush of 600 paper and then some cleaning with paint prep solvent before painting. I miss the rivet process very little since I moved over to scale gliders.......

After some testing and conversations with John Ellis about PolyTone on hard surfaces.....converting to Aerothane ( with flattener to match wing PolyTone) for the Fuslage and cowl....

I'm not sure why you are painting spokes on the hubcaps.

                Hi Rick,

Spoke wheels are a bit of "Artistic License " and ........

Polished Aluminum is really susceptible to "fisheye" .....well,..... at least 33% of it..........
