Arrived in Bath at just after 2:00pm, checked in at the hotel, changed into flying clothes, got a quick sandwich, headed to the field and got to the field a little before 4:00pm. Assembled the 2-33 and got a couple of flights! Beautiful evening here!

Have a great event guys! Green air!

They said meet at the Switzerland Inn? I went to the wrong one! So far Jeremy will be happy to know all of the flags are compliant.

Just arrived home from Hammondsport and Windy Ridge... Too bad I only had Saturday as Sunday was not loc0-in so go0d... Still well worth the 4 hour drive (even if Blanik tow release was defective). Will order a "good" one from Gunny . Thanks so much to Steve and Kevin for there efforts as well as the " Worker Bees" that did all the cooking... All excellently done!

Well these guys throw a hell of a party. Breakfast, lunch and dinner every day; all well done. The venue is fantastic with crossing runways too keep landings and take off separate; all on top of a ridge which at this outing did not stand up to it's name. Oh, did I mention the huge hanger for glider storage, the land owner who designs and builds his own aircraft, and great club members around to make sure everyone is happy.

Thanks to all the tow pilots for their time and investment. There was always a tug ready if you wanted to fly and several times two going at the same time.

Not that you needed that many tows. The lift Friday and Saturday was outstanding. So a little rain on Thursday just gave us time to talk shop and get ready for the next day. Weather cleared in the afternoon and we got off to a good start. I left early Sunday due to some potential car issues which turned out to be a false alarm. I hope those that stayed got some flying in before heading home.

I only have a couple of photos to share but I do not seem to be able to load them so I'll be waiting on the pros.

To Steve and Kevin and their local Club members...

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!

What a fine event and what great friends we have made in this group. You guys are truly the best! Not only did you do everything possible to make us welcome, but also kept us well feed, and made to feel at home. BRAVO gentlemen, job well done!

Since 2010, we have had the opportunity to travel to aero tow events in Connecticut, New York, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Michigan, Illinois, West Virginia, and Alabama.Every location has had features that made the location useful for what we do. No location is perfect, but Windy Ridge certainly comes close! The land owners are serious airplane guys and have built their own private full-scale airport that also happens to be an outstanding R/C airport. As has been mentioned, the host club was very gracious and did an outstanding job with meals...three per day no less!!!!!

The ultimate thing that makes or breaks any event and any field location is the weather. We were treated to absolutely perfect conditions from Wednesday through Saturday. Everyday was packed with activity making one day equal to about three days at the average event. Truthfully, getting rained out on Sunday was not a bad thing because we were all played out by that time.

Here are a few of the highlights through the eye of my camera.

                        Wednesday afternoon.

Arrived at the field just before 4:00pm and there was serious flying to be done before going to the Switzerland Inn for dinner on the deck by the lake. A personal goal for me this trip was to get more stick time on my 1/4-scale Aviation Concepts Schweizer 2-33. The other pilots said this was the perfect day for launches and landings but little thermal activity...well my very first flight was 17 minutes! Gunny has done a superb job with all of his kit designs and although the full-scale 2-33 is a draggy old bird, the model is a real floater.

Len gave me a ride behind his Bidule and Steve with his Pawnee.

Look at the beautiful runway behind me (and there was another one just as nice crossing this one.

                        Then dinner by the Lake.

..all of this happened and this was not even the first day of the event!

What a beautiful property...pictures just do not do it justice. Here are the guys getting planes out of the hangar for another day of non-stop flying.

Every day ended around the campfire...

We were treated to a couple of early morning full-scale visitors on Saturday morning. Here is Jeff capturing the touch down of one of them.
