Just got in from the September Soar.

I was able to enjoy Saturday and Sunday at the event. Absolutely wonderful !!

I had the chance to get some time in on the Bidule and also get some flights on my Arcus yesterday.

The weather was wonderful, although a tad windy on Saturday.........very good for me to practice my landings though ! Amazing lift even with the wind on Saturday and flying today just got better and better as the day moved on.

It is always very special to be at these events. Everyone goes out of there way to offer help and lend a hand......working on sailplanes and towplanes, helping to get things set up and taken down, and helping put things away after a long day. The friendship and camaraderie makes these events very wonderful.

A special thanks to Len who always tows with a smile on his face and gives tremendous help, coaching, and support to all.

And very importantly: Many thanks to all the many people of the Green Mountain Thermal Corp.......Marc, Josh, and the many others that made this event so special, and for inviting us to be there at such a beautiful time of year at the Layne Farm in Vermont.

Looking forward to next year already.

      Bob

What can be added that hasn't already been said. Great time, great weather and exceptional people.
Windy Saturday? Yeah, but straight down the runway and smooth as silk!! I'll take that anytime. Even with the wind, the tugs ran all day.

Mark, Thompson, Tony, Josh, Mike, and all the others who put this event together are quickly developing a first class event which is now a MUST attend event. Flying with the mountains in the back-round and wide open approaches are something you should not pass up. The Saturday evening dinner, provided by Josh's wife and family members, was a blessing at the end of a busy day.

Thanks to our tow pilots, Bob, Mike, Tony, Marc for chipping in and keeping the sailplanes flying.

Hey, yes as said what a great weekend of friends and flying and nature. The site, as was the drive there and back, spectacular. The weather was perfect and the thunder, lightning, deluge rain and wind storm late Saturday night added some extreme excitement to camping with a pup tent! Woke up at 5:30 and watched the sunrise. Thanks to all who put on the event, bbq and the tow guys for going the extra mile. Hope to see you all again in NY or Cumberland. best, Matt

Team Long Island got back at 9:30 pm. As mentioned above thank you very much for your hospitality and great flying facility and weather this year. The barbecue was absolutely fantastic. I was impressed to see eight campers there this year! That makes it fun by itself too.
I enjoyed the complementary maple syrup from Vermont that we received during check-in registration. The next morning we enjoyed it with French toast.

Thanks to the Green Mountain folks and their families for the warm welcome and great event. This is a fabulous location. The weather turned out great with that steady wind keeping us cool in the sun over the first two days. It was great to meet and fly with the locals, the Canadians, as as always our traveling aerotowing roadshow.

Always have to thank the tow pilots, they were great and always available as we have come to expect.
              I'll be back next year.

Thanks everyone in our club that donated all their time to set-up, work the aerotow line, help with new member questions, monitor the registration table and help out cooking. Glad it went as well as it did. Thanks for all the support from everyone who attended, we LOVE to keep the scale sailplane enthusiasm meter pegged! Always welcome anyone back here to Vermont for more aerotowing and soaring.

                Cheers, Thompson

Sounds like great event......what else to expect from the VT crew.
My plans to attend on Thu or Fri fell trough as I was seated on jury the week before. Still sitting there...almost two weeks now. The judge didn't think that going to VT to fly gliders was good enough excuse to let me go
I'll join you guys next year.

Thank you Etienne! This video is wonderful and just a nice little surprise. Really does set the tone and feel for our event. Yes, Len did do a few rolls with the Bidule on tow. Etienne gave an after dinner show with his Jet engined yellow Salto, what a hoot that was to watch! My iPhone 5 camera is frizzed out dirty, so no filming, hopefully someone else filmed this?
                          Cheers, Thompson

Thanks so much to the Green Mountain crew for a another great event. I really appreciated the warmer weather vs last year also (no icicles)... It was a great time with great weather, people, food, friends etc. Good to see the Canadian contingent also. As always thank you to the tow pilots - Len, Bob and others for the time and effort you guys put in. Without you we would just have a great static show.

Pictures are being worked on. Here are a few early ones...

                              Enjoy,
                              Jeff

Back again... Finally got the album together. Here's the link.

Need to fly more and take less shots. This one's a record! But a good way to wind down the season. Lots of great planes and people. So many subjects, so little time

All kidding aside, I had fun. I hope it tells the story. Thanks again to the gang in VT for the event and everyone for providing great subject matter.

                                Enjoy.
