Rolled back into my driveway about 12:30 am this morning.
The original plan was to leave early Tuesday morning. Since there were a few of us sticking around to fly on Monday ( which always turns out to be the best weather) we chose to stay the night and get a good night rest before heading back.
That plan changed when one of our fellow pilots experienced car problems on the weekend and the parts could not be obtained and installed until Tuesday afternoon. One thing this group does not do is leave someone stranded behind and since I had flexible plans we hung out at the field on Tuesday flying foamies and learning to operate a Typhoon 500 Quad while we waited for the dealer to call with the good news. About 1:30 the call came and went down town to pick up his car and head home.
It was a long trip for us, but a fantastic experience.
So many memories from this trip, the side by side tow, the Bidule formation fly-by, the formation ridge running with Jeremy, the food, the view and even the night flying video we made.
The 10.6m Nimbus was flown for the first time in over a year, it reminded me why its such a beauty.
My FIRST of two one hour + flights. One with the Nimbus and one with the Arcus
The weather was awesome, the attendance strong and our family extended with a couple new pilots showing up!!!
No MAJOR disasters, just a couple tree adventures. The Bidule 170 is amazing. The facility is top notch along with the host and hostess.
What more could you ever ask for? Those who couldn't attend missed and event that will be hard to duplicate.
Thank you :
Jeremy for working with me on the balance of my Arcus, who knew 3 oz would make that much difference in a 36lb glider?
Bob M for working so hard to get your tug online, having it there was a huge help and congratulations on your towing. Nice job! Thanks for pitching in. Great snacks too!
Steve P for countless hours towing with the Bidule, you did a great job and made me feel very confident the plane was safe. I appreciate you listening to my constant chatter.
Bob K, nice towing with the Decathlon... Its coming alive now with the DA 170 tuned to perfection.
Butch for running out to get me muffler repair supplies for the Bidule headers ( did I mention I HATE flex headers?)
Stephane for just being himself....
My right hand crew, Mathew Ruell and Daniel Stewart .. ... These two young men ROCK... they helped doing everything from shagging lines to putting planes away.
Scot, for always sticking by and stepping in when things get crazy and you're always there to balance the load. Not to mention provide transportation for my right hand crew Danial.
And of course, we wouldn't be able to have this love fest if it wasn't for Dr. James Dolly.
Thank you Jim for giving your time and property to everyone to enjoy. You and Marcy are special people.
Lastly,
Thanks to everyone for showing up and supporting this great hobby we have. Scale sailplanes are the most beautiful and relaxing part of the RC world as far as I'm concerned, and with the talent and skill you guys have, its always a thrill to see whats going to turn up next.
I have a surprise or two for DELAWARE.... Stay tuned.

With each event, it seems we pick up a few more significant others. In recognition of this, and at my wife's urging, we built a "Ladies' Room" in our new building as a way of saying thank you for your support! I want to extend a special thank you to Diane for helping with the meals. She grilled, she organized, she served, and she helped us clean up. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Just wanted to thank Jim for a another great event! Your place is already fantastic but with the new "clubhouse" it's even better (is that even possible)!! Thank you for allowing us to share your little piece of heaven.
And it would not be what it is without the effort of Len, Steve, Bob M., Bob K. and the host of others that just pitch in and help when needed. Everyone makes these events into what they are: A great time to be with friends we know and friends we just haven't met yet. Hang out, fly gliders, towplanes, electrics, night fliers, talk, eat, repeat!
Still can't wipe the grin off when I think of all the fun had or look at the pictures.

Jeff,
Once again you go above and beyond in the Photography department. The East Coast is blessed to have a "staff" photographer at most events. The quality, positioning and lighting you look for in each photo you take surly makes the difference between your shots and mine with my pocket camera/phone/fax-machine/ stop watch/compass/flashlight/typewriter/..... you get the point.
Thanks again for the time it takes and for sharing. How can we get some of the photos for our desktop or to use in posts?

Thank you for the kind words. It keeps me going knowing they are liked. I also admire shots others post as well. Some of the shots in my album were taken with my left hand metric adjustable crescent wretch tool kit cell phone camera gps.... So before you sell whatever camera you have short, as I was once told, the right camera for the job is the one you have when you need it!
You should be able to download them from the Flickr album directly. If not, send me an email or pm.
