  • Tow Plane gasoline

Kevin and I loaded up 7.5 gal of non ethanol tow plane fuel in November prior to Cumberland. We were unable to attend. Did not put any stabilizer in the fuel. So, now it is 4 months later.... Opinions on whether to use it, or get rid of it and get fresh fuel? Thanks.

Divide the amount into two equal parts...let Kevin test his 3.75 gallons against the performance of your 3.75 gallons. Each sailplane pilot can do a series of test tows with each of you. After five days of aerotowing, they can report any difference observed from previous tows with the same tow plane using fresh fuel. At that point, you will have no other choice than replacing your supply.

Sell it on the street. “Psst, hey mister, I got 7.5 gallons of primo Arabian unleaded that will rock your world. Let me hook you up.”

So was the fuel OK? Or was it so good it blew out the muffler?

Fuel was ok. I think the broken header was unrelated to the gas.
