Test fit the fuel tank platform, it didn't clear the winder. Luckily the tank still fit when I shortened it. Plus a little more carbon fiber vinyl. I really love how it looks.
Got the doors installed, I was concerned this was going to be finicky to get everything to line up. I should have known better, everything just seemed to fall into place.
Added the fuselage truss bracing and the scale steps. At this point I'm as far as I can get on the fuse without Gunny's updated windshield installation and the engine. The plan is to install the windshield when we go to Cumberland in March. So now I jump ahead to the fin and rudder.
Sorry for the lack of updates, it's been a crazy month. But, during that time we went to the Spring Cumberland event. Met up with Gunny and we worked on a better way to install the windshield. This will be reflected in the next generation of kits. The plan is to add some tabs to the top panel and include laser drilled holes to get the windshield alignment correct at the top. We found if we were off by even 1/64th of an inch, it didnt fit correctly. We also changed the cockpit sheeting to plywood over balsa instead of just balsa. Gives a better bite for the screws and is less likely to be sanded too much or too little.
Still needs a little trimming, but wow it looks great! Big thanks to Gunny, Len B, Steve K and Jim D for helping get over this hurdle.
