Spectacular Wednesday on the mountain. The early birds got some good flying in interspersed with helping Jim with hangar projects. Nobody got scanned.

The 49th annual even is shaping up to be a great one! See you in the AM.

Gunny was the first to arrive, rolling into Cumberland at 7:00pm Tuesday evening. We got him a nice dinner at Ruby Tuesdays.

After a leasurely breakfast at D'Atri's, Gunny and I arrived on the field just ahead of Len.

We then put he and Len to work on the building project! 😀 Len did the carpentry work while, as you can see, Gunny did the drywall sanding.

SteveP and Burt arrived a little bit later and Steve proceeded to carved up the sky until sunset.

                    Day 1

You did WHAT with my chew toy!?

Gunny landing his 1/3-scale 2-33 amid a lot of activity on the sidelines.

Professor Hartmann prepares to take his turn towing.

                    And the Snatch.

Fun day on the mountain today. Weather was beautiful, highs in the 70's with very slight breeze, almost non existing. Aerotowing was the choice of the day with a few guys over with the winch launch setups.
Thermals started early afternoon and at one point was booming out of the valley. The Bidule was working hard trying to keep up with the sailplanes waiting to fly, Jeremy and Tom pitched in with some towing duties also, so we were able to keep the wait time down to only a few minutes.
No disasters, so another highly successful day.
The day ended with a fire pit and marshmallows, plus a NIGHTVISION AIR flying around!!!

Lets do it all again tomorrow.

Len has been doing way more than his share of towing duties over the last few events, but I think the smile he gets when flying the Bidule 170 says something!
