  • 2018 New England Aerotow - Salem, Connecticut - May 17-18-19-20

Our first annual event, 9th great year! Thursday- Sunday, May 17-20, 2018

The RC Propbusters present our annual four-day AMA-sanctioned scale sailplane aerotow weekend. Come enjoy our beautiful site in Salem, CT. Soaring from a manicured grass field, the surrounding farm fields and rural terrain produces fantastic thermal activity! Directions to the field and more information here: http://rcpropbusters.com/flying-field.html

The Connecticut coast has lots to offer including beaches, great seafood, the historic town of Mystic and Mystic Seaport, Rhode Island ocean beaches and the 24/7 action at Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods Casino resorts. Towns of Norwich, New London, Groton, Flanders, Niantic, Mystic, Lyme and Westerly offer a range of hotel accommodations.

WELCOME BEGINNERS and ELECTRIC FLYERS: If you've ever had an interest in sailplane aero tow, please join us for some hands-on learning. If you own a scale sailplane or are interested in getting started, we'll help you get some stick time. All forms of electric-powered sailplanes are welcome to fly. No winch or high-start flying is permitted.

Tow donation: $60 for all four days, $20 any one day. Grill lunch & beverages available for purchase.

Registration: www.scalesoaring.com/new-england-registration Current AMA or MAAC is required to fly.

Directions: N 41 29.509, W 72 13.590 Field address is 479 Norwich Road, Salem, CT 06420. From the intersection of CT Routes 85 & 82, go East on Rt. 82 for about 3 miles. Entrance to the field is on the right. If you come to Rt. 354 (Gardner Lake) you have gone ¼ mile too far. From Interstate 395, tale Exit 80 for Route 82 toward Salem. The field is about 6 miles on the left just past the intersection of Route 354.

We hope you will join us!

                          Hi Al,

DA150 of course. Plenty of power. Going to try a 3 blade prop tomorrow and see how it goes.

Very happy, towed a bunch today with it.

Many. thanks to Scot for assembling this plane for me. I have had limited time to get this together and Scot offered to do the build.( assembly) and has dome a magnificent job, Clean, setup, solid linkages and professional all the way.
                            Performance is outstanding.

Just happened to be looking that direction with my hatcam & caught the final seconds of today's Bidule crash. Scot said he was interested in seeing the crash footage & to go ahead & post it (ordinarily I try to post happier stuff)...
