      ***Please Note***

Saturday, November 4th is the day of the Fort Hill vs. Allegany HIgh School Homecoming Football Game and the Homecoming Prom is Saturday evening. These are the two public high schools in the city of Cumberland and the city takes its high school football VERY seriously.

The point is this, trying to organize a large group to eat out at any of the favorite local restaurants on Friday or Saturday night will be difficult at best. My recommendation is to form small groups of 4-6 and make reservations NOW.

Even if the restaurant says they can handle a big group, take my advice and don't try it...years of experience has taught me to avoid it. They just can't handle a large group and get the orders out efficiently.

Eating at Bob Evans or Cracker Barrel should not be too much of an issue if you just want something simple and quick.

Jim, how about we take care of eating at the field, if that would work with everyone else!
Just a thought, that way we can fly Night Flyers and have a Smores Overload

I am not saying that you can't find a place to eat, just that trying to take a large group is not going to work well. If everyone divides into small groups, you should be able to get reservations just about anywhere...but the sooner you make a reservation the better!

If a group wants to have dinner at the field Friday evening, we can work something out for sure.

Wednesday and Thursday evenings should be no problem for going out to a restaurant. As a matter of fact, I have a reservation for 10 on Thursday evening at 7:00pm at Fratelli's and they said their schedule is very open on both Wednesday and Thursday (as are most of the other places) but Friday and Saturday are very busy...so, if we stay late at the field on Friday and/or Saturday night, I have plenty of firewood for a campfire. All we need is a menu.

Unfortunately I won't be able to make it this time around. Looks like building season starts early for me! Here's hoping for great weather and booming lift for you guys.

                Day 1 ~ Wednesday, November 1, 2017

Absolutely awesome day of flying! Calm neutral air all day...perfect for the first flights of the new orange DG-800. Did I mention that it is ORANGE 🍊

Scot was a towing machine. Only stopped for gas and batteries. A dozen guys kept the towing service busy all day.

The Great Pumpkin? Speed Gourd? Minute Maid —there are those infamous speed runs. I see a Tropicana sponsorship opportunity in someone’s future.

                        Day 2 ~ Thursday, November 2, 2017

awesome day...warm, calm, mostly sunny, non-stop flying. Many pictures were taken, but none by me so will depend on others to share.
