  • New England Aerotow May 18-21 - Salem, Connecticut

It's time again to fly your scale and electric sailplanes in beautiful New England.

RC Propbusters 2017 New England Aerotow
    Salem, Connecticut
    Thursday, May 18 - Sunday, May 21, 2017

    CLUB SITE AND DIRECTIONS: http://www.rcpropbusters.com/

    REGISTRATION: https://www.scalesoaring.com/new-england-registration

Towing from a manicured grass field, the surrounding farm fields and rural terrain produces fantastic thermal activity!

The Connecticut coast has lots to offer including beaches, great seafood, the historic town of Mystic and the Mystic Seaport, ocean beaches of Rhode Island and the 24-7 action at Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods Casino Resorts. Towns of Norwich, New London, Groton, Flanders, Niantic, Mystic, Lyme and Westerly offer a range of accommodations.

WELCOME BEGINNERS: If you've ever had an interest in scale soaring aero tow, please join us for some hands-on learning. If you own a scale sailplane or are interested in getting started, we'll be certain to help you understand the basics, get some stick time, and come away ready to take on future aero tows with the skills and confidence you'll need.

All forms of electric-powered sailplanes are welcome to fly during this event. No winches or highstarts.

I'm picking up the trailer tomorrow and de-winterizing it over the weekend... Heading to White River Junction VT on Tuesday and Salem by Wednesday. Looking forward to some great flying. It will be my first time out this year.

Looking forward to seeing you Dan, Aurele, and Jeff.
I'm excited for some booming thermals. I was talking to a club member who was flying this on Monday when a thermal took his plane almost out of sight. He said it was crazy lift.

Lets hope for excellent weather again this year.

Time to spin up to flying mode. Will be there Thursday morning. Flying through Saturday for sure. Sunday is in question with a family event I need to attend. May get part of the day in.

The forecast (which we never look at) is looking great.

                    See you all soon.
