Actually...header tank would not have mattered,
The cause was saying: "I think I have enough fuel for one more!"

Hi Michael.
Nope, that was an off field excursion resulting from fuel starvation. (no header tank)
However, due to exceptional piloting skills, Mr Dolly was able to land the plane in the field without any significant damage and bring home some corn at the same time.
Multitasking!!

Yessir... very nice pictures! Looks like a good time. Gunny, your Blanik is pretty cool! I saw the High Point Aviation Bidule off field. Jim, is that when it blew a cylinder?

Jeff,
In addition to your being a good friend to all of us soar heads, we're also blessed by your talents! Thank you for so superbly documenting the event.
This is also a prime occasion to once again thank you, our tow pilots and everyone who helped, came to fly or just enjoy watching the majestic sailplanes in flight. All of you together make the event special and memorable.
Steve

Wow, it gets better every time Jeff. I too love the fog shot along with the dew on the spider web and the before red sky dawn. You truly do great work.

+1 Jeff. As always, a superb photographic study of the people, their models and the venue. Consequently, it does a great job capturing and conveying the essence of why we do what we do. I always look forward to seeing your albums.

Awesome album Jeff. Great mix of airplanes and people to get the true feeling of the friendship and flying. Thanks for all your time behind the view finder!! Your work makes the event last, not just a fleeting thought.
