I envisioned myself placing this in the trailer today in the process of getting ready for Cumberland. I was going to fly it straight out of the crate.
Instead, I took some time to neaten up and dress out this 4.5 meter Salto that came my way thanks to Wil Byers. The airfoil is a HQW 2.5/12 and while modeled at 1:4 scale, it really isn't as the wings are stretched a bit. Regardless, I thought (and think) it will be a blast on the big slope.
Yesterday and today I spent a couple hours in the shop and many more in the garden. At least spring is upon us here in CT.
I really like this sailplane, the huge carbon joiner, and how nicely the parts all fit.
