Announcing New 1/3-Scale Kit ~ Schweizer TG-3 by Peter Goldsmith Design
Awesome. After flying it I wouldn’t change a thing. I used the rear C of G Mark, real floater at that location. Little better directional stability at the forward location. Both c of G’s can be achieved using the ballast box. I’m using 2 x 4000mah Spektrum life packs mounted forward of the front dash.
if you want to stay up in light lift, this is the model, stays up on very little lift.
also has decent penetration for its type..
Peter will need to confirm this, but he told me it was in between the weight of the Swallow (20-21 lbs) and the 1-26 (29-30lbs)...so somewhere around 24-25 pounds. He has since flown it and adjusted the CG to suit his style, so we will need his input on the final AUW.
Prototype was 28lbs 4oz. Flew extremely light. This was 70% painted model so would be a little lighter us using Ultracote.
Weight range is 27-29 depending on finish used.
Pete said 6020 on his FB post not 6220. Not sure which is correct though
Which are “ discontinuedâ€......from the looks of the drawings “normal†servos will work........$800 for servos is a bit much to swallow for a plane of this size.....
