That was my first impression when I saw the box was how small it was but then I tried lifting it..

Good point. The 7040 is pretty slow. Love the torque though..
-
Yes, it can be made to fit. I used to recommend it as a release servo however I had a near mishap where I couldn’t release fast enough on takeoff, the transit speed on the 7040 is a little slow as it’s intended for retracts. Since the mishap Ive changed to the 6220.

Will the SPMSA7040 fit for the release servo?

Standard size 100oz servos will work on Ail,Rud, and Spoiler. Elev needs to be the SPM7020 and release needs to be the SPMSA6220 due to height restrictions.
As for why the 6220, kinda 1 size fits all mentality, carry over from my competition days.. It’s also a excellent servo that I have used in other models, I don’t like recommending servos I haven’t tested..

Which are “ discontinuedâ€......from the looks of the drawings “normal†servos will work........$800 for servos is a bit much to swallow for a plane of this size.....Originally posted by wesryman View PostPete said 6020 on his FB post not 6220. Not sure which is correct though

Is there a servo list coming? I don’t recall seeing what torques or how many are going to be recommended.
