First thing this morning we took delivery of a fresh unit of 2x4x12's for the interior wall construction.
First order of business was to build some temporary steps between the main level and the basement level. Built walls then steps,
Time to move upstairs and start building walls. Got the wall next to the steps started and then we ran out of daylight.

Building Again
The first new building at the HighPoint Airfield was built in 2015, the second in 2017, and the third in 2019...seems a trend had developed...so...in 2021 we are building again!
We considered building a new home along the road up to the airfield back when we first bought the property in 1992, but the time just wasn't right. Two years ago, we were able to buy a 5+ acre lot along Sunny Side Drive (road that goes to the airfield). For several years we had teased Len Buffinton about building a house for us...well...he decided it was something he wanted to do, and we were off to the races to get it done this year.
We got our building permit on August 3, 2021, and Randy Teter started the excavation. Randy is the one responsible for all of the many years of road work and excavation work that enabled us to build the hangars at the airfield. He has a wonderful young man, Wyatt, that works for him. They quickly had the site preparation completed...and then the September rains came!!!
Finally, the foundation work was started in early October and was completed and ready for Len to start by the end of the month. At this point we were about three weeks behind schedule.
The Beatles song: "With a Little Help from My Friends" that Ringo Starr sang has taken on renewed meaning for me. The list of my friends that have helped with the build reads like an aerotow roster!!!
Beginning with Len Buffinton
Gunny Bumburs
Frank Pace
Dustin Iser
Russ Bennett
Dave Harris
Steve Kremer
Joe Lossen
...and I am sure I am forgetting someone!
Bottom line is with a little help from my friends, we have made good progress toward being on the scheduled originally planned. Saying Thank You to this wonderful group of friends hardly seems to scratch the surface of my gratitude.
