  • New 125cc motor from Evolution

Horizon has finally released the Evolution 125cc motor they secretly were using at the aerotow last summer in IL.
The "under development" motor was being tested on a Pawnee at the time with outstanding performance and reliability. Craig Greening was testing the motor and after watching it far out perform all the 100cc powered Pawnees, I figured something was up and sure enough this is the result.

    Len,
I've been eyeing this motor and looking for reviews and yours is the first, albeit short and indirect, assessment I've seen. I like that it adapts to existing exhaust configs, has a genuine Wlabro carb and is backed by Horizon. How about bringing yours to SERA so we can have a look?

Asher, the DA-100, DLE-111, and the DLE-120 all have rectangular exhaust ports. According to the pictures of the Evolution 125GX on the Horizon Hobby site, it has round exhaust ports like the DA-120. Since HH states that currently available accessories fit this engine, it seems reasonable to conclude that DA-120 headers will fit the 125GX..

          Asher,
I don't have one yet, but will for sure. I saw it in action last summer and knew it was on the way, but didn't know when. I noticed the motor at Horizon last year and asked about it, because it was so much more powerful than the other tugs.
That motor ran the whole event without issue.

Yea, Craig and I were talking Evo engines so I knew that Pawnee had one. I was impressed.

I have half of that motor here going in my big Mustang
