The Miss Tractor is a great flying, no bad habits and easy landing plane. With the recommended 50-60cc motor it flies like a large trainer but using the flaps allows very slow and gentle landings. Three point landings are easy and will land vertical like a butterfly with a head wind.
With a DA 85 and RE3 tuned pipe the Miss Tractor turns into a nice pulling machine. The ready to fly weight minus fuel is in the 24-26 lb range which equates to approx 2 -1 thrust to weight ratio. This little baby will pull up a 45 lb glider nicely. With a skilled tug pilot 55 lbs is achievable.
I am currently putting together the second one for my friend Steve. There are few things I noticed need to be made stronger for durability.
The tow point needs a little help. The fuselage from the back of the cabin to the tail needs bracing because the fuselage will twist under load. The tail wheel is not strong enough and plywood mount needs to be stronger. The Ohio Super Star Heige 20 - 30 lb tail wheel works well.
Due to the torque of the DA 85 & RE3 tuned pipe it does not hurt to strengthen the firewall.
The c/g will work out with out adding weight by putting the batteries forward.
Putting a 50 ounce tank in requires a shelf and the foam on the back of the windscreen needs to be hollowed out.
Here are a few pictures of the modifications.
