  • New Bidule 170

    Finally finished my Bidule 170. Waiting for the weather to get right for the maiden.

    DA 170
    RE-3 Tuned Pipes
    Mejzlik 28.5 x 12S Prop
    Carbon Fiber Spinner
    2 each 7800mah LiIon batteries
    1 each 5200 mah LiIon battery
    100 ounce fuel capacity
    Tail wheel Ohio Superstar Heigh Large 50-70 lbs
    Weight to be determined.
    Balanced with 4 ounces added to the back of the firewall.

    A taildragger Bidule! Looks really nice, Kris. We'll all be watching and waiting for a maiden report.

      Looks great! You planning on aerotowing the lawn mower? You sit in the lawn mower then RC the Bidule, right? Then you yell out 'hey everybody... watch this!'.

          Wow....Cool Kris!....I'll be looking forward to seeing it fly this year!!!

          Love the tail dragger mod and color scheme!!! It looks like a Swiss Air Force EFW C-3603 ....ummm...one of these....

            Kris, Did you have to make new hard points for the landing gear or did you reuse the existing hard points and just turn the gear around, so that they swept forward, instead of back?

                        The mower is the tug for moving it around.

                        I left the original hard points in the plane so I can retro fit it to a tricycle gear if the tail dragger set up does not work out. I took all the balsa off the bottom from the original hard points forward. I put in 1/4 birch ply then 1/4 light ply. I used 1 inch x 1 inch bass triangle on the inside. Then I put 1/8 light play forward to the firewall to help with strength and stiffness. The gear was turned around for the sweep forward.
