    • Sand to Shape

Custom nose means custom front windscreen pieces. Started out by making paper templates to the openings, then transferred them to vinyl paint mask applied to the new PTGE material.
Then as is said many times......Simply....... "Sand to Shape".......easy-piezy.

You gotta love flat panels! I hate having to make plugs for compound curved windshields.

    • Factory Fresh windows ........anti-hanger-rash guards are staying on for the time being.

            Absolutely love it Scot!

        • For the metric system challenged:

          23 kg = 50.7 lbs.

          0.45 kg = 0.99 lbs.

            That's only 3.62 stone!

        • Hope you and the SMELLY-YAK-2 can make it down to Fallbrook to our First Saturday of the Month Aerotow some time. It looks like it could tow a full size.

            • Yes stunning! but...
The spinner needs to be painted black. Then it's complete and will pop with the rest of the model.

What spinner should the Smelly wear today.........and , of course, ......"does this spinner make me look fat"......

              • yellow spiral and if done in 3 blade im sure it will look thinner than 2 blade... this plane begs for the new release soon of the xicoy x45tp motor up front not much change in cost from da150 with pipes and headers.............

True,....it would be uber-cool with a Turbo Prop.
Unfortunately, not very practical for towing, also the X45TP is only equivlant to a DA85 in power.
A JetCat SPT10 or 15 would be more practical ............but then fuel burn rate becomes an issue. the SPT10 burns 11.8 oz at full power and the 15 is considerably higher.
I would have to install functional "drop" tanks to carry all that extra fuel.
............And of course 3 or 4 large fire extinguishers.

              • have peter scale it down to 2/3 original and x45 it.... im in for a kit if he does............dying to put that motor to work when it gets released soon.

but for now your plane looks great as is.
