New England Aero Tow - May 19-22, 2016 - Salem, Connecticut
I arrived at the field today about 1:00 pm to start getting everything ready for tomorrow and to my surprise there was a large contingent of club members already there with most of the work completed already. The field was mowed and trimmed, tables and barricades moved out of the way and even some guys already flying. Tom was there with his trailer parked and Kevin Kramer was putting his Decathlon together already!!!
Yippee. Its on!!
Jim, Gunny, Rick, Steve, Tom, and others have already arrived and set up camp.
I'll be attending this event for the first time after seeing prior pics and reading about it. A group of folks (including Len) visited our club last year for our giant scale event and brought a great selection of aircraft with them and put on a great show, people still talk about it. It prompted some of us to go out and get some of our own gliders, from motorized to tug/high start. I'm trying to finish up one now to bring with me. I presume all types of gliders will be flying, or is it just those that need to be hauled up?
Other types of all sailplanes are welcome, except for high start type because there is no place to see it up without getting in the way.
There really is no start time, we're there about 730 am and there are some that camp there too.
