Great event Jim. That is one for the books. I only have one thing to say - You Guys are Hard Core!!! What a group <sounds of applause>!

Congrats on the maiden too. Looking forward to getting some shots of it for sure (I need a new subject).

Great pictures from all the photogs. Thanks for sharing them. There is something about bright blue skies and crisp white snow to make a great background. But I have to admit when I was looking at one of the early shots down the field towards the entrance road, I felt like I was looking at ski trails through the woods

    Good job to all.

    Later,
    Jeff D

Well thanks again to Jim D for another great, and somewhat interesting, event. It was great to see everyone at the start of this years schedule.

Here is a link to my photos.

Well, I finally got some time to thank Jim for a great, although different event! Michael and I arrived on Wednesday evening in time for dinner with Burt and French1! We were unable to venture up the mountain on Thursday,as some others did. But on Friday myself Michael and Jelly made the drive up and promptly got stuck, after a push I gunned the van up and around the hairpin just short of making the top! Dustin arrived behind me and my 2 pushers tried again, but no go. So the call was made to Kremer and Kremer Towing, they arrived shortly after, and towed me to the top. We then dropped down into the field and were once again denied to make it up to the hangar after 2 attempts!

After midday I was able to make the final drive to the top and open The Model Box Shop, thanks to all who made a purchase, the Deluxe adhesives where a great hit, thanks to Jim for having me bring them and all the hardware needed for the upcoming builds! After having helped clearing a runway, it was a matter of time until we were able to use it, a day to be precise!

The thought of not being able to tow until Saturday was a little to stressful for Kremer and Kremer Towing!

My main goal for the weekend was to get Michael back in the air after 3 years of no flying, which was successful, Thanks Len to giving him his confidence back, he had several flights on Saturday and Sunday until we got the wind from the other side of the Mountain and was caught short of the field! Thanks to Greg and Allen for getting the Blanik out of the tree with no further damage.

Jim it looks like no matter what happens you guys still have fun. That's dedication to make a runway in the snow. Our Spring Aerotow in Fallbrook CA is this Saturday I do not expect SNOW.

When I first saw this photo I thought someone was run over by an ambulance.

When I first saw that picture, I said to myself it's a Ford Transit... Oh it's Jeremy's ...not in transit.

                • I chickened out, and did not go due to a lingering chest cold that has plagued both me and my wife for four weeks. But had I decided to go, I could have brought my new Binford supercharged snowblower. It would have made short work out of clearing that runway! Seriously, it looks like, in spite of the weather, you guys made the most of the situation and still had a great time. Sorry I missed it. Hope to see you all soon.

As you can see from the pictures, the weather conditions were a challenge...but somehow, we had a great time anyway. Lots of laughs and a reasonable amount of flying...and I got to maiden my Schweizer 1-26!

                  • Just want to say that I had a great time. Jim thanks for the mountain and thanks to everyone helping me get back in the air. And a special thanks to the guys who got my blank out of the tree. Can’t wait for the next time.

                    • Driving down RT 220 just south of Cumberland this afternoon. Off to the left on top of the ridge I saw a nice meadow and thought that would be a great place to fly model airplanes. Great thoughts of March and thinking about July.
