Back home Sunday night after a half way stop in Bowling Green, with a drive time of 7 hrs 50 min, not bad including torrential rain in Alabama!
What a great event, I had a little accident with the Antares which will be rectified by the capable hands of Ian (Thanks) So I became the the tow pilot with my Decathlon for the remainder of Friday and all day Saturday, with relief from Garry, Ian and Stephane. I even got to fly Michael's Vapire and Ian's Kirky with some major boomers going on.
A great event with lots of friendly attendees (I wasn't talking about you French1), but thanks to my weekend helper Matthieu.
And I cannot forget to mention the Lovely group of ladies who supplied us with all the nourishment needed to sustain the days activities, Saturday's dinner was terrific, I love fresh Corn on the Cob. I will return next year that's for sure.

And I forgot to thank the weather, beautiful sun filled skies with a few clouds to help you see your plane and temperature in the 70s.
So forget looking at those forecast's, you will never go to an event

What a week end, great company (even you Swiss1), great field, good food fantastic facilitates. A jewel in middle of Indiana, every one that came just say they will be back next year just to say about the quality of the field and amnesties...

Glad to have towed during the week end, this is my second event where I am towing and getting used to it, sorry for the early release, but this is the way I can learn...

The trainer 50 did very well the job with the DLE 85, couple minor issues, fixed with field repairs (broken clevis on the elevator, now I understand why there is two on towplanes...) Thanks Mark for the portable soldering to replace this one. Also went trough a 6/32 blind nut on the struts, luckily one of the club member was have A BAG of them so I have fixed it and even have spare parts now...

So I clearly understand now why Len need as big of a trailer, full of spare parts, flying a tow plane is definitively a little bit harder on the spare parts..

Except couple mishaps, weather has cooperated very well.

I especially want to thank Gary Bussel, without who it wouldn't have been possible to organize this. He has put the museum facility and organized the logistic of the event flawlessly. Thank a lot also to my partner on this event Ian Noble that drove from NC to help me on this.

I love our community and will try growing it further in Midwest...

Here is couple of picture from Miroslaw Zakowany if you are on FB, request friendship from him in order to see all his beautiful pictures

The Wilbur Wright Birthplace Aerotow was grrrrrrrrreat! Great bunch of guys and gals, great field, great facility, great food... what else is there? I love that field! I'm going next year! Saw familiar faces and met some new ones! What a great bunch our little aerotow community is!!!!!!! The lift was awesome Saturday. I got a 25 minute flight with the Vampyr and it is modeled after an airplane that was built before the concept of thermaling was known! I got to fly Ian Noble's Kirby and got a 35 minute flight on it while he was knocking about flying Stephan's ASW!

                        Hi guys!
It was great finally being able to fly with you all again. I had a great time, and the event was simply perfect. Everyone put in some great flights, we had fantastic weather, and the general attitude was very uplifting. I look forward to participating in this event next year!!! I am attaching a Flickr link with all pictures I took at the event and some Youtube links to videos.

                        Mark
