  • 2017 MRCA Aerotow May 27-29th

We are 4 weeks away from this event, time to plan for some logistic,

we have moved our dates this year in hope to catch warmer weather and extended our initial two day event to a 3 day event to allow for more fun and accommodate for longer travel time.

I would appreciate getting a head count, and have potential help for towing, thanks to get back in touch with me.

Ok, I have to ask, what is the beauty with N number N61513? Is that a K13? What a gorgeous sailplane! Glad to see the event is going well!

Tim, it is Dan Waybrant TG-3a, there was two of them scratch built, one by him (his second, he lost the first one last year at Winamac) and the other one made by Ed White

Tim, that was Dan's new Schweizer TG-3! It sure was a beauty! It flew great, too! There was another one but I don't recall the owner's name.Dan can step in and help on that point if he wants. Russ had a new DG-600. Stephane can correct me but there were seven 'maidens' (?) on Saturday!

What a great event seeing friends and meeting more! Thanks very much to Stephane and Burt for towing! Vladimir and Miraslaw provided a Pawnee, too. Thanks guys! The weather was perfect Saturday and Sunday. Rain rolled in late afternoon Sunday. Someone else will have to give the details about Monday because that's when I drove home. The field is very nice and large but I still managed to land short a few times. I know I got my money's worth. The ol' Vampyr got a workout and its last flight was for 28 minutes and 2 seconds. I might have stayed up longer but rain was on the way. It's kinda nice to land when you want and not because you have to do so! There were quite a few fliers and onlookers. I'll get some pics up soon.

Thanks for the report Michael, I've been lurking in the shadows watching and waiting for pictures.

Thanks for putting on such a nice event Stephane! The field was fun to fly from, the hospitality was great and the thermals were abundant. Miraslaw's big Fox was fun to watch as were Keith Shaw's flights with his scratch built electrics. I will put this event on the calendar for next year.
