Spectacular day of flying in georgeous weather.

Later this afternoon the slope turned on and the big scale ships had their way. Lots of high speed passes and back over the valley. Kevin put in over 90 minutes on his 2-33 flying the slope. My EMS Duo Discus loved it all and I flew until my transmitter battery alert went off.

As everyone else has said, what an awesome first day to the event. 91 minute flight with the 2-33 a personal record for me! Can't wait for tomorrow.

            Wednesday, November 2, 2016

The weather forecast for Wednesday has spot on, warm and sunny with light wind out of the southwest, perfect flying weather...so a whole group of guys came early to take advantage of it.

We met Dave, George, and Darrel for breakfast at Linda's Old Furnace Restaurant and then were off to the mountain. As we pulled in, Len was right behind us and SteveP, and the Kremer boys arrived shortly after that. flying commenced and Jeremy arrived about noon followed by Gunny and Burt.

            Here are a few pictures.

And the wayward Radian XL made a flight with all the grace and smoothness of a brand new one!

Not much towing today, but lots ridge lift.

Just a couple photos of Kevin's Pawnee landed dead stick to show what happens when you land long on the mountain. Short of complete disaster by 10 ft.

                      Stefan,

How did the 20 fly with those winglets of yours. Just curious. If you are making a mold for those and they proved to work well, I would definitely be interested in a set for mine as well.

Looks like you guys are having a a great time......wish I were there with you.

The new DG looks good Len, hope someone has a radar gun to give new velocity readings.

The winglets on the ASW-20 look fantastic.

Looks like a nice variety of airframes there.......scale, slope, towplanes, and even a Radian XL from last July !

Looking forward to seeing more pictures.

Well esteticaly, as today the lift was so strong that it is very difficult to make any differences...
