SOLD: E-flite L-13 Blanik 4.2 Meter Sailplane
I am posting this for my friend Joe Nelson. This model was built two years ago and only flown a total of about 20 flights. Joe is a local Cumberland resident and full-scale soaring pilot that dabbles in R/C.
At heart, Joe is a builder... and even though the Blanik is an ARF, Joe did a lot of modifications to make it his own version. Additions included using all of the upgrade parts that Gunny offers through Aviation Concepts (including a scale tow release). Fuselage reinforcements from the wing rod forward add strength to the wheel attachment and nose (replacing lead ballast weight with structural reinforcement weight), and stronger structure around the fuselage wing attachment area.
Joe is a very meticulous builder with great attention to detail. All of his work is first class as anyone who has seen this model can attest. The stock wheel has been replaced with a Sullivan metal hub wheel, and the wings and stabs have been recovered in an attractive unique color scheme. The plane has never been crashed or suffered major damage.
Servos are all Spektrum HV as called for by Horizon Hobby and spoilers are the E-flite electric units with the Spektrum voltage regulator module included.
The model is being offered as receiver ready, everything else included. Has two 5-cell 5,000 mAh NiMH battery packs that offer massive reserve power as well as ballast. Perfect for plugging into a Spektrum Power Safe receiver.
Asking $1,995.00
You may be wondering why he is selling this amazing sailplane...well, like I said, he is a builder at heart. Joe has just finished building one of Peter Goldsmith's 1/3-scale Slingsby T-45 Swallow kits. Here is a spy photo:
...and he just bought Peter's newest kit, the 1/3-scale Slingsby T-37 Skylark, so he will have a building project this coming winter!
