  • Relative Fuselage Size?

As I'm sure there are several here with a more encyclopedic knowledge of modern sailplane parameters I thought I'd save myself some research time. Of designs from roughly 1980 forward which have the largest fuselage volume relative to their wingspan? As visibility is often a limiting factor, especially as I'm scratch building at or below 3.5m span, a high volume fuselage is an attractive feature.

    Thanks in advance.

    Take care,

    Brent

Look at the aerobatic birds. They have shorter wings! That makes the fuse larger, relatively speaking.

I think the post 1980 sailplanes are all in quest for less drag which lead to very similar fuselage volume.

Looking in the 1960-1980 era would be more successful

I especially like the ASW-15 that has quite a decent fuselage without sacrificing too much drap in the equation
