Call it procrastination🤔but instead of clearing iff the big bench to get ready for building the wings I took a break from the serious building and made some belts to keep the pilot in1 Photo

Yes that clip is part of the film "Kunst am Himmel "and is where i first fell in love with the Lo 100, whilst recovering from a fairly serious work accident i was given a vhs tape in hostpital that had about an hour and a half of Arnold Hoffman and freinds and their scale soaring exploits and also Kunst am himmel so I laid in my hostpital bed daydreaming of the day i woyld have a big Lo100 and here we are 😆😆😆

I believe Rosenthal did Glass Lo100 fuselages, i initially wanted to build 1/3 scale but Andy and Shane had already done the beautiful cad work for the 1/2 when my deal was struck, Im so glad ive gone this way its been so much fun, i now need to clear off my bigger bench so i can make a start on the wings in the next few daysOriginally posted by Xroadie View PostI do like this model....I drooled over a 1/3scale Lo100 that a German modeler/pilot brought from Europe, at one of the old elmira Aerotows back in the late 90's! I believe it was an FG fuselage and CNC wings. This one is more impressive....and as I already said...I have a 1/2 scale pilot for it

Dash panel ✔skid bolted in ✔basic seat✔seat belt slots in main bulkead✔ nose cone made in fiberglass and a secure method of attachment made using the pitot tube ✔ all fairly simple stuff, wirth noticing I suppose is that the dash panel is attached to the varbon fibre plate that slides into rails for easy cover up and access4 Photos

Not much to tell you today other than the fuselage as you see it currently weighs 10kg including all the servos, so I'm thrilled with that, tonight I glassed the nose cone and made a simple dash as Im resisting going nuts on little internal details this time.2 Photos

It sure is, thats was built by a mate whos no longer with us about 35 years ago and is unique or special at least in that the fuselage is built from braised aluminium tubing with wooden stringers, its special to me because i was present the one and only time it flew as a very young man, when the buolder passed away his children had no attachment to his models and were planning to dump everything, until convinced that lots of people like myself would be happy to pay and preserve his collection, I purchased tbe three things i was most sentimsntally attached too and have just recently sold the last two things to good freinds for exactly what I paid for them a few years ago, i sild them knowing they would not get destroyed and have a better chance of getting airborne again with people who love them as much as me, and yes I also love the early racersOriginally posted by ARUP View PostLooks like it's coming along nicely.
