  • The soaring community lost a good man

The third of July Capitan Ken Adams died in his cabin aboard the cruise ship he captioned in Alaska. Ken was an outstanding Sailplane and Tow Plane pilot and a very good Videographer. I knew Ken for about 3 years and admired him for all of the above. He is and will be missed.

Horrible news, I unfortunately never had the privilege to meet Ken in person but had a wonderful e-mail relationship. You're right Jim, he was one of the good ones and will be missed.

            Hi Pete,
Ken and I talked about his dad flying SGS 1-26 sailplanes. I had a SGS 1-26 and flew it for 16 years in contests. His dad sounded like a guy I would have liked to meet. If you talk to him send my condolences.

Ken was 47, he moved to the Pacific Northwest I think back in April, he was a good guy and a great pilot, he flew with us at Camp Pendleton a lot, he did most of those videos you saw. R.I.P. Ken.y
