Congratulation on the purchase. I don't have any feedback on that plane, but happy you're stepping in.

There is a fair amount of information on the FlyFly ASW-28 and the ASW-15 on the web. I couldn't find anything on the ASW-18.

Sorry my mistake it was the ASW-28 not 18 , I seen some posts on the electric setup my model is non powered
I really didnt find much on the ASW-28 that I was hoping somebody in started off with a value price sailplane and what was done to improve it

I've had a few. Make sure you build it light! Its a very fun beginner kit, it takes off of short grass easily without a wheel. A 50cc towplane is more than enough to tow it up.

In terms of setup, a 2s LiPo receiver pack and some cheap KST servos make it a perfect combo and remember to balance it properly!

I will be starting a FlyFly DG 808S very soon. I'm building it as our club Aerotow sailplane and replacement for my ill-fated, ugly, yellow, beater, cheap Chinese sorta Discus looking sailplane. We bought the 808S from General Hobby and it arrived without the canopy set. After about 6 weeks of hassling with General Hobby they finally sent us just the canopy without the base and told us that was all they had and to ship the whole thing back for refund. Not trusting that we would get our money back we opted to order the canopy set from another source and that's where we are now waiting for the canopy. As soon as I get started on it I'll let you know how it goes. Maybe we should do a build thread here on this forum.

I have seen several posts that people had to reinforce the fuselage and tail area , my plans are to go with a Lipo battery , I have seen a couple of FlyFly kits and most were pleased after updating and correcting they were fun fliers and that is my goal buy cheap get some air time and save my pennies for a future project
I agree with you time we do take chances buying from the net I purchased my ASW-28 including shipping for 165.00 for a scale 2.5m from Find-Hobby in China { where do they come up with these names } so I'm hoping I don't have the same issues as you so wish me luck
