  • DG-600 GPS - Rosenthal

    DG 600 GPS experiment..........

What to do with a Rosenthal DG 600 fuselage that I acquired a while ago ....... build a thinner airfoil wing and see how many laps it will do.....
To speed the project along, I talked with Bruce DeVisser ( Rosenthal-Flugmodell-USA ) to see if they might be willing to build a custom wing.....and they said... Yes....
Using some specification from the Antares, Arcus and AN-66....we came up with a plan.
Even better is that Rosenthal has a new 25mm square carbon wing jointer that would be perfect for the thinner airfoil.

And now the wings are in hand...also a horizontal stabilizer and rudder too.

Wing has a overhang so I can blend it with the fuselage's original HQ 3/15 airfoil. .......500mm spoilers

That fuselage looks familiar.... Which set of airfoils did you end up using, Scott?

          Hi Mike,

I thought you might recognize it.....The Airfoil is as you recommended....HN-354HR 8% thickness at the root (33mm) and 1.6% camber. Thanks for the help.

Rosenthal also did a thinned airfoil for the stabilizer -

As you can see I've started in on the thinned stabilizer with 0.73 oz fiberglass and West Systems Epoxy.
