My opinion is if you land normal you will not have any issues if you just strengthen as I mentioned.
Crashing on the other hand. Well, all you'e doing is transferring the load somewhere else, which will then fail.
Not trying to be a wise guy, but maybe you're overthinking this too much, all the ones I see flying ( I see a LOT of them flying) are not having issues with that area one modified slightly.
