Made it home last night around 630 after a spectacular weekend of soaring with new and old friends! Thanks again to Jim Dolly for hosting and letting us fly at his own personal soaring paradise.
We arrived Wednesday night and I got a handful of flights on the Skylark before dark. Thursday was rainy and foggy all day, but I discovered mountain air is great for removing wrinkles in covering, especially when Len shoves it through a heat gun! Friday started off windy and turbulent and I got a few flights on the Shark, including doing my first few GPS Triangle laps with assistance from Stephane, I think I'm hooked. Also was able to maiden the Yellow Pawnee and it flew fantastic! Looks great in the air! Saturday was one of the best soaring days I've ever seen at Cumberland, you had to search for sink and fly around with spoilers to just to keep from flying away. I had over an hour flight on the Skylark and even thermaled the DG 800, unheard of! Can't wait for the next one!

Hey all, yes was superb once again as usual with some various conditions. Thanks Jim and all the the tow pilots! Loved every moment of it. Nice to see the new orange bird fly Kevin, plus a few other maidens, hang out with everyone again, and meet Bert2.

Ya Kevin!, loving this GPS Triangle Racing too and got lot a flight time on it this week and some good tips from various Pros. Upped my laps to 10, from 7, 2 years ago pre covid. Best were 2 10s and a 9 this week. The various days of very still air were a good learning situation and training to fly slower than I ever have in my life, ...and still do laps. Going to try to keep working it more and more.

          Looking forward to next event.

          Matt

Thank you Jim for this amazing place with an exceptional week end, weather has been stellar except Thursday that was scheduled off so we can rest for all that good weather that was ahead of us. Monday was no exception, Jim, Dave, Burt and Joe have enjoyed the place with the same weather and way less busier, was a great day to take time and enjoy the company !

            we will be back...

PS: I uploaded all my pictures this morning, 118

Don't forget that Jim doesn't want us to drive that fast up the mountain anymore, ....even though we are so anxious to get flying.
