  • 1/3 Scale Quintus

I have seen hints here and there that Radim Horky of H Model is producing a 1/3 scale Quintus.

There have been some photos showing up from time to time, with some on FaceBook yesterday.

It looks like it should be excellent for GPS racing as well as an outstanding sailplane.

    7.66m wingspan.

Should be a great addition to anyone's fleet. Being an H Model the craftsmanship is excellent as are all of his sailplanes.

I don't know if they will be here in the US or North America yet, hopefully soon.

I found a site showing it for sale also:

From the website I translated the following information: (Google translate, as my knowledge of German is very limited. Apologies for poor translation of some of the information)

The new elegant seater Quintus with super thin profile - Optimized fly for GPS Triangle

    Competition Version:
The wing is made of GRP / CFRP sandwich with abachi and the main spar made of solid carbon fiber. The speed limit is derived from the strength of the servos and control linkages. Customers flying this version beyond the 300 km / h.

    Light version:
Wing consists of GRP / CFRP sandwich with Herex and the main spar made of carbon / Herex Sandwich. It arises in the Light version, a weight saving in the land of about 1300 g. Customers flying this version beyond 250 km / h. Again, you must first pay attention to the strength of the servos and control linkages.

The price of both versions is the same - you have plenty of choice!
    Basic equipment:

Florian Schambeck is also doing one a bit larger if the 1:3 is too girly for you:

        That's a very impressive model !

Would love to see it in person.......hopefully the airframes from either of the companies will start to become available in the North American region in the near future.
