  • Sailplane day at Daytona Beach

Early morning saw low level fog that burned off by 930. Thermals were all over the field. At times it was difficult to see your sailplane with the haze. I know I had a few anxious moments after releasing the tow line, I lost sight of my Salto. Time seemed like eternity until I reacquired the model. It was great seeing friends and making new ones. Marc's Bidule saw most of the towing action. His tows were superb!
Kris's (son of Bidule) had a few tows as well. Promises to be a great tow plane.
All in all it was a great day for us, even though the Pilatus stripped a servo in the Elev and I couldn't fly it.
The heat and humidity was pretty high and I felt every bit. I was worn out by the time we got home.
Here are the pictures that Shari took.
