Here we go! 2018 is on the way, time to get our collective acts together, put-in for vacation time, buy the bride some jewelry and get those sailplanes into the sky!

Please reply below with updated information and I will continually update this first post (I will also delete comments as edits are reflected so things stay orderly). As always, once we have the list here fairly sorted, I will replicate it on other soaring forums and create an event for each on the ScaleSoaring.com Facebook page. Team Gorgeous Aerotow will be happening in April of 2018......we are just waiting to hear back from Neil Huffman as to the exact dates we can have the field. As soon as we get the dates we will start a thread and update here.

So I talked with Neil Huffman and April is full.....Easter is one weekend, there is a full size meet one weekend, ESL is another and they are doing a F3J contest on the last weekend.....he said we can have the first weekend in May the 4th-6th.....that’s 2 weekends before the Prop Busters so not that bad of a spread. If people are interested in going I’ll secure the weekend.

The Horizon Hobby Aerotow is June 13-17th

I understand this is the last year the event will be held at the Illini Glider Port, so if you've never been there or love flying at that field as much as everyone else, this is your last chance.

New Event - Background Info

I have CD'd warbird events for a bunch of years at PMAC, but hosting aerotow events is still new to me. While we have tugs known good for up to 3-4m sailplanes I'm hoping larger tugs will make themselves known to me before the event so I can promote it.

Frankenmuth is a great sailplane field and the club really had a great time hosting us last year. I joined the club to host this event just one week after my joining... lol

We had a great time last year with our test invitational. Stephane and his crew made the invitational a great success.This year he may be traveling abroad during our event.

Tug drivers please let me know you plan to attend and any details that would help me help you Tug details, dates attending, needs, etc.

Thanks for helping us get a new event off the ground. We're having a great time and learning fast !!

So.....after much talk with the team members of Team Geogous and others we have come to the conclusion that a combination of factors will force us to postpone the tentive May 4th-6th TG Aerotow at Horsefeathers until April of 2019........in its place we have agreed to co-sponsor the Spring Event at High Point Aviation Air Field scheduled for March!
A new thread will be started detailing what all will be entailed with this new endeavor!
