  • Paritech DG 303 6.52 Meter Build

OK, here are shots of the delivery date. I had to rent a truck to pickup the box. The importing broker screwed up and told me the box arrived about 2 hrs from me. I went back and forth with the guy but he insisted I had to drive to Virginia Beach to pickup the box. So, I drove there only to be told that it was actually delivered back in Richmond VA where I live and the guy was wrong. So, 4 hours of driving to get to the distribution center 15 minutes from my house. HAHA. They got it to me in one piece, I suppose that's all that matters.

some damage on shipping to the canopy and one of the gap seals is messed up pretty well. I will have to source some tape to redo it. No big deal for the journey this thing made to me

The canopy frame was poor fitting. I worked sanding and adjusting until I accepted it would have to be cut to allow full seating...

Next up was installing the canopy retention system. The kit included the gas strut and front hinge but raw and uncut really. so I needed some partall to make a mold of the canopy frame pin's insertion into the hinge...(you can see some areas I was marking for adjustment to get the canopy to seat on the fuse...

After setting of the epoxy filler the pin retainer now fits like a glove. Just need a little sanding and finishing

So, The cockpit tray/seat is one piece. It's a bit difficult to get it in and out. I need to figure out where to house the 10,000 mah 14s battery setup for the Jet. Ideally, the packs will be as far forward as possible to eliminate lead shot ballast in the nose and reduce overall weight.
I came to the conclusion splitting the seat pan will allow for best battery positioning and reduce the amount of fiddling between flights when charging, etc.
So, measure twice and cut once...

Last post is the strut install. Not too bad. After this I'll just need to sand, fill and paint the canopy frame.
What's your preferred way to fit a raw canopy to the frame? Should I glue it to the frame while mounted to the fuse? I always find the hard part is getting the canopy trimmed to it's completely flush with the fuselage and no uneven gaps. How do you like to do it?

Really nice! Thanks for sharing with us. Bold yet sensible move splitting the cockpit pan.

I'll be staring a Go Fund Me page to help replace people's keyboard damaged by the build thread drool.
