First trimming the LE and TE with a plane

Less than 1500g and quite rigid, should be a nice flying wing very similar to my SZD-59

Low beaming light to check surface aspect, look pretty good, should not need too much filler

Here is some updates from my last trip to chicago. My buddy Vladimir has been nice enought to creat moulds for rudder and elevator, very nice work Vladimir, we are on a great project

Rudder are currently done, and stab should be in the next month, waiting on the weather to improve in order to spray paint....

Vladimir does really nice work! I remember seeing one of his excellent fuselage molds at Winamac last year.

Back on the bench, freeing up the wings moving surfaces.

first slicing the lower surface of the wing, just enough to put some balsa to close the moving surface, 5mm here



then removing foam with a flat screwdriver






freeing up the live hinge by running a hacksaw blade through wood and fiberglass






checking alignement






Running a special tool made of a hacksaw blade glued on a piece of plywood to go along the side of the trench







moving the surface to loosen up the hinge










Gluing some balsa to close the moving surface






and here is the result after sanding








The next step will be to close the wing side and build a lip to have a nice gap and no whistling
