Tow release for glider and tow plane

Hi Fellow scale glider lovers:

I am new to this wonderful forum and also to scale soaring. I just started building a tow plane (Ampley designed by John Green field) and 1/4 scale KA-3 (Designed by Cliff Charlesworth). I would like to know if anyone has designed and manufactured their own tow release for both planes. It is not practical for me to buy these items when the shipping cost is more than double of the actual item and especially I am a machinist by trade.

Thank you very much for the welcome, I am not new to building R/C power plane and gliders but new to scale gliders so my contributing will be limited!
